Nasir El-Rufai’s wife sets up foundation in memory of late daughter, Yasmin
Mrs. Hadiza Isma El-Rufai, wife of the Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai sets up a foundation in memory of her late daughter Yasmin who died in 2012 from epilepsy which she had been diagnosed with at 14.
Yasmin studied law in the University of Bath and was undertaking her masters at the London school of Economics when she passed away.
The Yasmin El-Rufai Foundation was established in memory of late Yasmin El-Rufai, for her great passion for literature, creativity and knowledge. At the inception period, the Foundation focuses on two programs;
1. Creative Writing Program (CWP)
2. Women Literacy Program (WLP)
The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai took to his facebook page to appreciate his wife for spearheading the foundation.
This Foundation in memory of our late daughter Yasmin seeks to, among other objectives, encourage creative writing amongst young people. I appreciate my wife Hadiza for spearheading the establishment and keeping our daughter’s memory alive. I invite you all to follow the activities of the Foundation.
