2019: PDP expands BoT, members to spread across 36 states, FCT

Peoples’ Democratic party (PDP) has expanded members of its Board of Trustees (BoT)

Chairman of the BoT, Walid Jibrin, disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday September 6.

The BoT is being expanded as preparations by political parties in the country heigthens for 2019 general election.

Jibrin said: “We have accommodated the recommendation for our constitution, that is one member for each state of the federation and federal capital will be accommodated in the BoT. We have agreed on that to approve the number.

“Many have left. Some of them were statutory members there permanently, while others are tenure. We are not going to retire anybody among the statutory members that have left, and they cannot be replaced by anybody who is not a statutory members.”

He listed the statutory members as the former presidents of Nigeria, Senate President, National Chairman. “They are many, you can’t replace them,” he said.
