Ajimobi reacts to defeat in senatorial election
Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to his lost bid to return to the Senate after his eight years’ tenure as governor of the state. The governor who is the APC Oyo South Senatorial candidate in the last Saturday election lost to his rival from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Balogun. The PDP candidate was declared as the winner of Oyo South Senatorial District.
The result was announced yesterday by the returning officer of the district, Wole Akinsola, at the INEC collation centre office located in Ibadan North LGA. Ajimobi, who is the incumbent governor of Oyo State, contested to return to the Senate to occupy a seat he held between 1999 to 2003 before he became the governor of Oyo State.
