Amina Mohammad: Acting President Osinbajo bids farewell to outgoing minister
The Federal Executive Council on today held an emotional valedictory session for the outgoing Minister of Environment, Amina J. Mohammed.
The outgoing minister had served President Buhari’s administration for fifteen months would resume her duties at the UN headquarters in New York, in March, attended her last council meeting on Wednesday where she was celebrated by her colleagues.
At the valedictory session chaired by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, her fellow ministers got emotional as she endlessly struggled to stop her tears from flowing.
In his remarks, Osinbajo, who described the outgoing minister as a role model to millions of youths across the country, lauded her contributions to the government and the society at large.
He announced that a special valedictory dinner would be held in her honour today.
“We have always been very fascinated by her incredible understanding of so many different things.
“It’s actually quite amazing that we have one person who seems to know so much, who is competent in practically everything: finance, planning, environment and even law sometimes,” he said.
