Appeal Court commutes Jolly Nyame’s 14 years Jail term to 12 years, imposes N495m fine

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reduced the jail term of the former governor of Taraba State, Reverend Jolly Nyame from 14 years to 12 years.

The appellate court led by Justice Abdul Aboki also ordered Nyame to pay a fine of N495million.

Arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2007 for misappropriating Taraba state funds worth N1.64 billion, Justice Adebukola Banjoko of a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gudu, had On May 30, 2018, sentenced the former governor to a 14-year jail term.
