Aviation: Nigerian Senate moves to probe corruption in industry
Nigerian senate has mandated its committee on aviation to thoroughly investigate the root cause of the crisis currently rocking the nation’s aviation sector.
In a motion moved by Sen. Bala Ibn Na-Allah, the senate alleged that corruption and negligence such as poor management and lack of maintenance were responsible for the deterioration of essential facilities and infrastructure in most of the country’s airports.
According to Na-Allah, investigation revealed that only five airports in the country have efficient and well-lit airfield required to enable aircrafts land safely at night.
The airports include Lagos, Kano, Port-Harcourt, Abuja and Katsina.
