Budget Padding: Speaker Dogara has done nothing wrong ― Hon. Legor Idagbo

The crisis in the Federal House of Representatives took a new dimension when the former Chairman, Appropriation, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, visited four anti-graft agencies with petitions and documents to prove the authenticity of his allegation on the padded 2016 budget.
Before Jibrin’s visits to the anti-graft agencies, he had accused Speaker Yakubu Dogara and the entire leadership of the House of Representatives of being corrupt for padding the budget.
Reacting to Jibrin’s statement, Dogara gave him a 7-day ultimatum to retract his statement or face legal action.
Even at the face of judicial sanction, Jibrin refused to do this, insisting the Speaker cannot stop him with mere legal threat. At the moment, Dogara has being silent even after the expiration of the ultimatum given to Jibrin.
Following the petition made to the Nigerian Police Force, Dogara was invited to appear before a special investigating panel into the budget padding but he declined the invitation because the invitation letter was not signed by the acting Inspector General of Police.
In a bid to confirm Jibrin’s claim, Oak TV in an exclusive interview with Hon. Legor Idagbo, of the People’s Democratic Party, at his office in Abuja, gathered that the entire members of the National Assembly are solidly behind the Speaker and the leadership of the House of Representatives.
The law maker who represents Bekwarra, Obudu and Obanliku federal constituency of Cross River state, added that Hon. Jibrin’s action is a move to ridicule the institution because of his removal from being Chairman of the Appropriation committee.
