Buhari transmits 2021 FCT statutory budget to National Assembly
President Muhammadu Buhari has transmitted the 2021 Appropriation Bill of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to the House of Representatives for consideration and passage.
This was disclosed by the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, in a letter from the President appealing for consideration and quick passage of the bill. According to President Buhari, “the revenue estimate and expenditure are consistent with the Federal Government Government’s 2021 budget of economic recovery and resilience”.
He also said the budget will prioritise healthcare provision, job creation, youth empowerment, social healthcare services, education, agriculture and poverty alleviation. FCT statutory budget is the estimate of income and expenditure for the territory in its status of one of the States of the Federation.
As disclosed in the letter, total personnel budget is N63.6 billion, while the overhead is N55.3 billion and the total recurrent budget is 119 billion naira.
