Again court grants Ex-NSA Sambo Dasuki bail

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu Federal High Court has granted bail to the NSA, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

This is the sixth bail granted to the former NSA. He has been in DSS custody since December 29, 2015.

Dasuki had previously been granted bail by Justices Ademola Adeniyi (rtd), Ahmed Mohammed, Hussein Baba-Yusuf and Peter Affen in various criminal charges both at the Federal High Court and the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The Economic Community of West African States Court had in October 2016, also ordered the release of Dasuki.

Dasuki who was absent at the Federal High Court when the judgement was delivered, was before justice hussein Baba Yusuf at an FCT High court in maitama were he is standing trial for money laundering amounting to $2.1bn.

Although the judge Dasuki’s prayer for N5bn damages, she granted him bail in the sum of N200m with two sureties who must either be a civil servant of Grade Level 16 at the minimum in the Federal Civil Service or private citizens, who have landed properties in the municipal areas of Abuja.
