#DasukiGate: Nigerian Ex-Defence Chief, Alex Badeh sent to prison
A Federal High Court in Abuja today had ordered former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh to be remanded in Kuje prison pending on his bail application on Thursday.
Alex Badeh was arraigned on a 10-count charge bordering on money laundering, criminal breach of trust and corruption.
His bail application was struck out by Justice Okon Abang on the fact that it was filed before charges were brought in.
Badeh was to be arraigned before Justice Abang on March 3rd but the trial was adjourn to March 7th because the Judge wasn’t on sit.
The EFCC had accused the defendant of using funds meant for the Nigerian Air Force to purchase a Mansion for himself in Abuja.
He allegedly use dollar equivalent of sum of N1.4billion (One Billion, Four Hundred Million Naira) removed from the accounts of the Nigerian Air Force to purchase between January and December 2013 at Ogun River Street, off Danube Street, Maitama Abuja.
Alex Badeh denies all allegations leveled against him.
The continuation of substantive trial would begin on March 14 2016 and must report to the court on daily basis.
