Drama as IPOB loyalist, Bright Chimezie, protest continuous detention by DSS

Bright Chimezie is one of the co-defendants of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu standing trial on three-count charge of treasonable felony.

According to his lawyer Chukwudi Igwe, Mr. Chimezie has been in DSS custody for almost three years. He said a court in Uyo had earlier ordered the release of Mr. Chimezie in 2017 and that a compensation of N5m be paid to him for violation of his human rights. The lawyer said the DSS is yet to comply with the directives of the court.
