EFCC witness contradicts self in court, says Asokoro property not for ex- Minister, Bala Mohammed

A prosecution witness, Mr. Ishaya Dauda told an FCT High Court Gudu that the alleged property in Asokoro did not bear the name of former FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed.

The witness, who is a Senior Detective Superintendent with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), said this on Monday during cross-examination by the defense counsel, Chris Uche

Earlier in 2017, Dauda said that the defendant received a property in Asokoro as a bribe by Aso Savings and Loans.
In his recent testimony, the witness also admitted that a property at 54 Mike Akhigbe Street, Jabi, does not belong to the defendant while a plot of land in Kaduna was given to the former FCT minister by Kaduna state government.
Mohammed is being prosecuted by the commission on a six-count charge bordering on false declaration of assets and graft amounting to N864 million.

Continuation of trial has been adjourned until April 16, 2018
