Fire guts Accountant General’s office, Minister confirms official records intact
In the early hours of Wednesday, news broke out about a fire outbreak in the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris.
Luckily no casualty was reported, as most offices in the Federal Capital Territory are partially in operation following the lockdown order by President Muhammadu Buhari as part of efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The cause of the fire outbreak which led to damaged of properties is yet to be discovered as authorities are still investigating the incident.
The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, also known as Treasury House situated at the southeast of Abuja city centre, suffered the blaze just before 11:a.m. Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba confirmed no official records were lost to the fire.
