Fulani Herdsmen Attack: Nigerian Military talks tough
The recent happenings between farmers and fulani herdsmen clashes is a source for serious of concern .
The Commander in-Chief of Armed, Mohammedu Buhari has directed that security agencies to maintain peace and security in Nigeria as well as bring to book those involved, assuring that, the military and the security agencies will ensure that no more lives are lost.
The Chief of Defense Staff, who was represented by the Director of Admin, Major Gen. Fatai Alli gave the directive today, at a meeting between the military and the Association of Herdsmen (Meyati Allah) in Abuja.
Federal Government has directed the military to handle the clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in the country.
He however called on stakeholders and those interested in peace to sheath their swords and ensure there are no more loss of lives and properties, adding that the military will not tolerate excuses from any group for causing violence.
The leader of the Miyati Allah delegation, Senator Jajiri Alkali commended the effort of the military in countering insurgency in the country and therefore appealed to the military to tackle the herdsmen issue with professionalism.
