Ganduje presents N219bn for 2019 budget
The Kano state governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has presented the 2019 budget tagged, “Budget of Sustainable Development” with infrastructure taking the lion share.
Presenting the Budget before the State House of Assembly yesterday, Governor Ganduje said this year’s budget, totalling N219, 655, 217, 786. is higher than that of 2018 budget of reactualisation.
According to the governor the sum of N134, 065, 165, 219, was earmarked for the Capital expenditure, while the sum of N85, 590, 65,167 goes to the recurrent expenditure.
He said about N156, 761, 637, 947, is to serve as the re-current revenue out of which N45 billion is targetted as the Internally Generated Revenue IGR, adding that the sum of N101, 751, 637, 947, is to come from the Federal Revenue Allocation.
Ganduje revealed that infrastructural Development got the highest allocation of N38.3billion in the 2018 budget, while Water Resources came second highest with N26.4 billion allocation as against the 2018 budget which stood at N13 billion and Educational sector came third with N18 billion allocation.
