HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis remain public health challenges in Nigeria – Health
The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, stated that HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis has defied all odds with its continued prevalence in Nigeria.
He made this known in Abuja on Tuesday during the 2016 Annual National Product Supply Chain Management Programme and Nigeria Supply Chain Integration Project retreat.
In his words, “in Nigeria, the burden of the triple diseases, HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis remain a public health challenges.”
“In 2015 alone, there were an estimated 214 million new cases of malaria; 438,000 deaths and of these, Nigeria accounted for 25%.” He added.
The minister reinstated the commitment of the Federal Government to rid Nigeria of the maladies by year 2017.
