Hundreds of sympathisers visited Ogbonicha, the home town of Prince Abubakar Audu to witness the burial of the APC Kogi governorship candidate.
The chairman of Kogi Council of Ulamah, Salman Adam, assisted by the Chief Imam of Anyigba, Yahaya Musa, presided over the Islamic burial rites.
A Muslim scholar, Kassim Imam, in a brief funeral speech, said only God had the right to give or take life as no human had that right.
He said Mr. Audu’s death should not be ascribed to the making or wishes of any man, saying it was his time to go back to his creator.
Among those at the funeral were the national chairman of APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, former governors, political associates, including James Faleke, the deceased’s deputy governorship candidate.
