N400m Fraud: Metuh absent in court due to ill health
The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has adjourned trial of Olisa Metuh following his absence.
Counsel to metuh, Onyechi Ikpeazu told the court that the defendant was absent due to deterioration in his health. He said his client has been on admission at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching hospital since January 20, 2018. Ikpeazu further urged the court to adjourn the case to January 23, 2018, in other to properly ascertain any development in Metu’s health.
The prosecution counsel however reluctantly conceded to the adjournment stating that the case cannot continue in the absence of the 1st defendant according to Sec 266 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang adjourned the trial to Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018.
The Former Peoples Democratic Party spokesman has been standing trial for alleged diversion of N400m arms fund while he was still in office.
