Nigerian Senate reconvenes plenary after one month break
The Nigerian Senate has adjourned plenary till April 7 as part of the precautionary measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the Country.
The lawmakers took the decision on Tuesday after a closed-door session that lasted for one hour.
President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, in his speech called on the Federal Government to assist the states with funds to combat the COVID-19 crisis to avoid a case of an outbreak.
He also stressed the need to set up a special fund to assist victims of COVID-19.
Similarly the Senate  observed a minute silence in honor of the late Senator Rose Oko.
