The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has denied a statement alleging that Nigeria would launch an attack on Israel if IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu is not deported back to Nigeria

Nigerians were taken aback after a video clip showing Nnamdi Kanu praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, was released on Facebook, on Friday, October 19, 2018.

Kanu also made a statement on Sunday via radio Biafra in which he said he has returned fully and is “coming back with hell.”

Lai Mohammed had reportedly said “We are giving Israeli Government 24 hours to deport Nnamdi Kanu back to Nigeria Or we will take a harsh action against them.

However, the Special Assistant on media to the minister, Segun Adeyemi, debunked the statement calling it “fake”.

The Department of State Services ( DSS), has also denied that five of its personnel aided the escape of Nnamdi Kanu.

The controversial IPOB leader disappeared in September 2017, after clashes between his supporters and soldiers involved in a military exercise in Abia State.

Reacting to the reemergence of the IPOB leader, the presidency has said that it is clear vindication about Kanu’s alleged assassination against the Nigerian government.

Kanu is facing charges of treasonable felony at the Federal High Court in Abuja before justice Binta Nyanko.
