The Senate today, has adjourned plenary session until the 5th of November.
The Senate upon resumption of a two weeks break which was to enable committees to hold budget defence with the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, (MDAs).
It was announced the Senate will embark on a one week break. The announcement was made today during plenary by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, who stated that the break will enable the committees to round up their budget defence with the MDAs and to also give room for the commencement of the Appropriations Committee Sub-committee Budget Defence.
In view of this, he said the Senate has  suspended all plenary activities until the 5th of November,  which marks the end of the 2020 budget defence.
The Appropriations Committee Sub-committee Budget Defence is slated to hold from Wednesday October 30th -Tuesday October 5th.
The Defence is scheduled to hold from 10am – 6pm concurrently all through the one week allocated for the defence.
In view of this, he said the Senate has  suspended all plenary activities until the 5th of November,  which marks the end of the 2020 budget defence.
