While Umar was still speaking, Duke attempted to address the court which prompted Umar to shout at her.
“There cannot be two leading counsel. Sit down. You cannot speak,” Umar shouted.
CCT chairman, Danladi Umar asked what the problem was, Duke in a faint voice tried to explain herself.
However, Umar was quick to say: “She wants to address the tribunal but I have not given her permission to do that.”
“I apply that her name is withdrawn from our list of counsels,” he added.
Delivering a brief Ruling on the application, the CCT chairman said “professor Zainab Duke is no more in the list of counsel. She can, therefore, take her leave or seat at the back bench.”
Duke opted to leave the court. Zainab Duke-Abiola is the wife of late Moshood Abiola.
