Nigeria Recruits 200,000 Health Promoters

The Nigeria government has begun recruitment of about 200,000 health promoters across the nation.

The effort is part of measures by the country to reduce maternal and child deaths, and promote general health care services in the nation.

The programme, Community Health Influencers, Promoters and Services (CHIPS) will help improve access to health and ensure equitable coverage of essential services, especially those related to maternal, newborn and child survival.

President Muhammadu Buhari launched the programme in Lafia, Nasarawa state on Tuesday 6th, 2018.
