Plateau killings: Kano lawmaker weeps, calls for solution

Federal lawmaker representing Minjibir/Ungogo constituency in Kano state, Bashir Babale, has challenged the House of Representatives to enforce whatever power it has to end killings across the country.

He stated this as he wept profusely at the Green Chamber while addressing his colleagues on Tuesday July 3.

“My condolence goes to all those who lost ones in this very crisis. It is sad, and it is worrisome” that the people were killed in such gruesome attacks, he said.

Mr Speaker, if today, at l00 years, or 104 years, we are still talking about Birom, Fulanis, I don’t know when this country after a century, will reach the much aclaimed promised land we talk about.

“Mr Speaker, after all these crises for over 25 years, after every crisis, the best thing to do is to a battalion of army or police to quench the crisis, immediately they quench the crisis, everybody will go and sit at the comfort of his office,” he said further, as he challenged the House of Representatives to proffer solutions to ending killings across the nation.
