Protesters storm Edo government house, seek 12 months unpaid salaries

Academic and non academic staff of College of Education, Ekiadolor were allegedly barricaded from gaining access to government house by men of Edo State Public Works Volunteers to demand their twelve months unpaid salaries owed them by the Edo State government.

Men of PUWOV were said to have immediately pushed the protesters out of the way and chased them away. As protest of staffs of College of Education, Ekiadolor enters day eight, they have continue to call on the state government to clear their twelve months salaries to end their untold hardship.

The angry looking protesters were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions such as, pay us 12 months salaries and pensions, staff of the college are dying, 100% subvention to the college, we are suffocating, among others.

The leader of the protesters, Comrade Fred Omonuwa said they will continue to protest and demand for their money till government respond to their plights as they appeal to the state government to give them listening hear to cushion their sufferings and take care of their family members.
