Segun Oni joins Ekiti governorship race, picks APC nomination form

Former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Olusegun Oni, has picked governorship nomination form from the party’s national secretariat, Abuja, on Monday, April 16.

The former governor of Ekiti state under the platform of the People’s Democratic party said he is convinced that ‘he’ represents the change that the people of Ekiti need.

The governorship aspirant, who explained the change he envisions for Ekiti state, pledged to create a new social and economic order which will impact more on youth, create better entrepreneurship opportunities, and increase the state’s Gross Domestic Product.

Oni was elected governor of Ekiti State in April 2007. He was removed from office on 15 October 2010 following the judgment of an Appeal Court which ruled nullified his election. In 2014 he defected from the PDP and joined the newly formed opposition party All Progressive Congress (APC)

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has the highest number of 41 persons aspiring for the governorship seat in Ekiti state.
