The Senate, yesterday, condemned assassination attempt on the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye (APC) and on other politically exposed persons in other parts of the country.
Senator Hamman Misau who drew the attention of the Senate to assassination attempt on Dino Melaye in his home town during the recess, said this trending crime in the country must be condemned and halted.
“Mr. President, distinguished colleagues, I want to come through order 43 to draw the attention of the Senate to assassination attempt on our colleague, Dino Melaye”, he said.
Reacting to the motion, Senator Shehu Sani (APC), Kaduna Central noted that the height of attacks on politically exposed persons across the country is on the rise and a matter of national concern.
He expressed concern that in the recent times, one would see cases of stoning politicians and all forms of abuse, saying government must rise to provide protection.
Sani’s concern was as a result of invasion of his constituency office late last year, revealing that yesterday in Kaduna gunmen raided his constituency office again.
