Breaking: Senator Dino Melaye speaks from hideout

Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, has spoken five days after the police laid siege at his Abuja residence.

The Senator, in a New Year video on Tuesday, wished Nigerians a happy new year, saying that his enemies be brought to shame in what appeared to be a prayer from the Psalms.

“Happy New Year fellow Countrymen and women. Wish us God’s speed on all sides this year. Amen,” Melaye wrote.

Melaye is wanted for criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide said to have been committed on July 19, 2018. Force spokesman Jimoh Moshood, an acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, said the siege was a worldwide practice to ensure wanted criminals are arrested.
