Shi’ite Massacre: Group demands prosecution of El-Zakzaky, closure of Iranian Embassy
A group known as Sovereign Rights Coalition (SRC) made a call to the Federal Government to prosecute the detained leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and to close the Iranian embassy in Nigeria.
This was made known during a protest organized by the group in Abuja on 5th October, 2016.
The group describes the IMN as a terrorist organization and also labelled Iranian government as their sponsor.
In a communique issued by the group co-ordinator, Comr. Daniel Obaje, he is quoted as thus “the state should as a matter of necessity, treat and elevate the security status of IMN to a first class terror group in the ranks of the famed Boko Haram and given like attention. It is pertinent for the immediate arraignment and prosecution of the leader of the sect on terror charges as deemed appropriate.”
“We have also discovered that the relationship between our country and the Republic of Iran has become cancerous and will only be beneficial if such detrimental tie is severed to prevent further damage.”
