Supreme court sacks Zamfara APC candidates, declares PDP winner of state polls

The Supreme Court on Friday nullified the elections of all candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State in the 2019 general elections.
Justice Paul Galinje, who read the lead judgment held that all votes cast for the APC are “wasted votes” because the party did not conduct primaries in the state.

Consequently, the apex court declared that all political parties with the second highest votes in the elections and the required spread, are the valid winners
The panel also awarded cost of N10m against APC in favour of the Kabiru Marafa
